Note No. #15 // Enjoy the Space Between Where You Are and Where You're Going
A Goodbye to Where I've Been and Hello to Whatever Happens Next
Good morning!
I came across an Instagram post the other day that stopped me in my tracks. The words hit home in a way that forced me to pause and reflect:
"Enjoy the space between where you are and where you're going."
Nothing better describes where I am right now. I'm in the process of hanging up my passport—at least the way I've been using it for the past six years—and taking a step back from nomad life. While I'm not yet sure where I'm headed next, I know one thing for certain: I'm ready for a change.
A Goodbye to Where I've Been
Digital Nomad life opened doors I never knew existed and gave me permission to live life on my own terms. Without taking the initial leap of faith, I wouldn't be where I am today.
These past six years shaped my journey. From the amazing people I’ve met around the world–each leaving their mark on me and who, I hope in some little way, I also left a mark. To the places that challenged everything I thought I knew about the world. And the experiences that pushed me to grow in ways I never imagined.
Travel provided me space and permission to play, experiment, learn and grow. It brought me some of my favorite people. And taught me there are so many different ways to live.
But there comes a point where we outgrow the very things that helped us become who we are. There comes a moment when something that once challenged us starts feeling comfortable and we need a change.
The Art of Letting Go
That's where I find myself now. While nomad life will forever be part of my story—and I'm endlessly grateful for everything it's given me—I'm ready for a new chapter. There are still adventures to be had in the nomad world, but my intuition is pulling me in a different direction.
Sometimes the bravest thing we can do is listen to that quiet voice inside us, even when it's telling us to leave behind something we love.
Sitting with the Unknown
The past few weeks I’ve been sitting in the unknown working to distinguish between intuition, anxiety, fear, and ego as I work out my next move. It's like trying to separate different colored threads that have been tangled together. They can feel and sound so similar.
But I've learned the best way to build the life of your dreams is to listen to your intuition and take a chance. The immediate next step might not be your final destination, but it will help point your compass in the right direction.
When was the last time you sat with the unknown? It can be uncomfortable, I know. But if you approach it from a place of abundance, play, and experimentation, it can also be one of the most exhilarating feelings in the world.
Looking Forward
There's something exciting about having the whole world open to you. About not knowing what's next, but trusting that your inner compass will lead you where you need to go. So far, following my intuition has brought me on a wild ride to incredible places and introduced me to my people. And I can't wait to see what's next.
Here's to embracing the space between where we are and where we're going. To trusting the journey, even when we can't see the destination clearly.
Enjoy your week!

A Question for you:
When was the last time you embraced the space between where you are and where you’re going? How did it feel to sit with the unknown, and what did it teach you about yourself or your next steps?
I’d love to hear about it! Share your answer with me using the hashtag #WhereverNotes or drop a comment—let’s inspire each other!
I find that reminding myself that nothing is permanent helps whenever I get to a cross road. Every choice can be changed. That first step is important to create motion, but the direction can change any time. Just trying something, anything, creates momentum and helps stop the rumination of trying to find what’s next. So if you had to make a choice right now, what’s the first step? In my experience, your intuition knows. Just do it!
You can’t make the wrong move; you can always make another choice. And you have a lot of people who are behind you, supporting you and rooting for your success! Xo
